Trip To Charleston In December

We will be in Charleston the weekend of the Christmas Boat Parade. We are also planning on seeing the downtown Charleston Christmas Parade. Staying at the Best Western King Charles Inn. Five downtown hotels are already sold out for that weekend! Anyone been in Charleston during that Christmas Boat Parade weekend in Dec (6/7)? The last Christmas Boat Parade we saw was in So Calif in 2001.

Looking very forward to that weekend. Of course, no snow, but that is quite ok with us.

Any recommends or suggestions for that weekend?

We will be in Charleston on both Saturday and Sunday, leaving on Monday. We are not into expensive dining, but would like a taste of some seafood. As far as that carriage ride goes, don%26#39;t know if we will have time for that......two days can go mighty fast, but that is all we can do! We are actually visiting there for the Christmas displays/lights, Boat Parade and Downtown Parade. If time permits, would also like to see the USS Yorktown area (I spent time in the Navy). We will arrive in Charleston early on Saturday morning.

You are on a tight schedule! Even so, the carriage ride is a ';must';.

Hank%26#39;s would be a good choice for seafood, but Charleston is a ';foodie'; town so it%26#39;s tough to go wrong. The water taxi schedule slows down sometime in winter, so if you were planning to see the Yorktown via a boat, check their schedule first. (You can get there by bus if you don%26#39;t have a car).

The rooftop bars and California Dreaming will be crowded that night so go early. The boat parade is beautiful! All the boats are decorated for Christmas and many continue to light their lights every night through the holidays.

You picked a great time to visit. The boat parade is always so much fun.

Jestine%26#39;s is a great local non-expensive place to eat. It%26#39;s at the corner of meeting and Wentworth.

A little over a month to go before we head to Charleston for a December weekend of Christmas fun. We can hardly wait!!!! AND, will be having a nice dinner there that weekend also!
