Restaurants in myrtle beach

We are coming to myrtle beach on Nov 1 for a couple of weeks. The first week we will be with friends that have never been before. Where would you suggest that we go to dinner?

I went to Angelo%26#39;s (steak and pasta) for the first time this year and everyone is our family really liked it. We also tried Bimini%26#39;s for seafood and it was great as well. But look at the thread about restaurants for some more ideas. There are so many choices!

Try the Fish House. We were in MB a few weeks ago for 6 nights and ended up there twice. Once for the AYCE crab legs which were outstanding(they were huge!) and the second time for early bird and had the hugest platter of fried shrimp that were so tasty! teh best part is a complimentary dish of soft ice cream for dessert. Always a plus after seafood. Prices are very reasonable and service wonderful

I put your suggestions on my list. The Fish House sounds great. Love crab legs and shrimp. The couple we are going to be with loves pasta so I%26#39;m also putting Angelos on my list.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Try the Sea Captains House for great seafood and Carolina Roadhouse for a nice steak.

Thanks. It%26#39;s so nice of all of you. I really appreciate your help.

Just my opinion, but I think Calabash should be at the top of the list for all Myrtle Beach first-timers. That%26#39;s where it all started back in the 1930%26#39;s, a tiny fishing village with a couple of family operations serving up seafood taken right off the boats. For generations, a visit to Calabash has been a big part of going to the beach. It just doesn%26#39;t get any better.

I%26#39;m partial to Dockside because of it%26#39;s waterfront views, but Ella%26#39;s and Beck%26#39;s are favorites too. And don%26#39;t miss Callahan%26#39;s gift shop!

Thanks, I totally agree that Calabash is top of the list. We have been a few times to Original Benjamins but not to any others. Another couple is coming with us so we would like to go with them to a calabash since they have never been to Myrtle Beach or a calabash.

Summer1964, just to clarify, Calabash is a small village just over the border in North Carolina, about 10 minutes from N. Myrtle%26#39;s Cherry Grove section. Original Benjamin%26#39;s serves Calabash style seafood, but they are not located in Calabash so that doesn%26#39;t count :)

You really should visit the real thing. See here for more info: www.visitnc.com/what_to_do_article.asp鈥?/a>

I had no idea. Thanks for explaining. I%26#39;ll look it up.

No problem...I%26#39;m glad to help spread the word!

Calabash is easy to find. Just take US 17 north out of N. Myrtle/Cherry Grove. Go through Little River, then you%26#39;ll enter NC. Just after crossing the border, turn right onto NC 179. Follow about 2 miles into Calabash, and turn right onto River Rd. Callahan%26#39;s gift shop is on the corner, and Beck%26#39;s is on the right just after you turn. Follow to the end of River Rd. where you%26#39;ll find Ella%26#39;s and Dockside. There are a number of restaurants in Calabash, and I%26#39;m sure they%26#39;re all good, but we%26#39;ve always stayed with the tried and true. As I said above, Dockside is nice because they%26#39;re right on the water, but you can%26#39;t go wrong with any of the three I mentioned.
