My family will be visiting Charleston over the Thanksgiving holiday, and it occurs to me that not all restaurants will be open. Of those that are serving, it would probably be a good idea to have advance reservations. Can anyone advise me on Charleston restaurants that generally remain open on Thanksgiving? Many thanks--

Thanksgiving dinner in CharlestonBeen to Charleston many many times but only once for Thanksgiving in 2007. I can wholeheartedly recommend not going to Middleton Place for Thanksgiving Dinner. The gardens are magnificent, but the Thanksgiving Dinner is quite pathetic.
...just checked out various postings and this person seems to have many bad experiences in restaurants, even in his home town. Too bad. I have never eaten my Thanksgiving meal at Middleton Place (I am with my family at home) but have eaten many catered dinners, receptions and restaurant meals there and they have always been wonderful!
I guess if you eat out enough you%26#39;ll be able to quickly distinguish between the good the bad and the ugly. Thanks for checking out my history - why does it surprise you that I could have a poor retaurant meal in my own hometown? While you were snooping I also hope you read my review of the Middleton Place Restaurant Thanksgiving experience. I doubt you would have wanted to share that experience.
No, I%26#39;m not afraid to let my voice be heard when an overpriced-underperforming restaurant rears its ugly head because there are plenty out there. It%26#39;s from our collective experiences that we%26#39;re able to share information and hopefully prevent others from making our same mistakes. It also helps us by forcing restaurants to either shape up or lose customers.
I just got an email from the Maverick group. Slightly North of braod, High Cotton and the Old Village Post House (in Mt P.) are all open for Thanksgiving. High Cotton is one of my favortes-fresh local ingredients, creative combinations. Have fun. November isbeautiful in our neck of the woods.
