Reds on Shem Creek is a cool place. Shem Creek Grille is good also.

Thank you.. will give one of them a try

If you want to head out a little farther towards the beach, try the Boathouse at Breech Inlet.

We love the oysters in every form (fried, steamed, stew, shooters) at Shem Creek Bar %26amp; Grille.

Yes, I third the Shem Creek Bar and Grille!! :) Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent view at sunset!

When Red%26#39;s has their steamed oyster buckets and the evening is a little cool, there just isn%26#39;t any place better! A bucket of steamed oysters, a glove, a knife and crackers and cocktail sauce is all you need (besides the longneck bucket!). www.redsicehouse.com

If you don%26#39;t have to be right on the water, Locklear%26#39;s is my favorite for great deals on terrific food, with lots of seafood choices. (it%26#39;s just ';before'; Shem Creek, coming from Charleston)

I was absolutely delighted with RB%26#39;s Shem%26#39;s Creek. Reasonably priced, excellent food with atmosphere on intercoastal......best collard greens ever and I%26#39;m from Bklyn. A definite eating experience.

I don%26#39;t want to upset the apple cart, but we spend at least a week in the Charleston area each year, and are sometimes down there 2-3 times during the year. We generally eat dinner out every night while we%26#39;re there, so I%26#39;ve tried a lot of restaurants over the past few years. In general, I have not been very impressed with the restaurants on Shem Creek. We have eaten several meals at Vickery%26#39;s on Shem Creek that were memorable for the sunset/dolphin watching off their back deck, but not for the food. We had a particularly miserable meal at RB%26#39;s on one trip. To me, when you%26#39;re sitting at a table watching shrimp boats pass by, you don%26#39;t want to be eating shrimp that taste as though they were frozen a good six months earlier. That was our experience at RB%26#39;s. This is just my opinion, but if you want ';quality'; seafood, particularly dishes that aren%26#39;t fried, then I would skip Shem Creek and eat downtown. To me, Hank%26#39;s has the best seafood in the area and I%26#39;ve been reading good things about FISH since they reopened.

I agree that Hanks is excellent. It is my favorite seafood restaurant in the area.

That said, we love going over the bridge to Shem Creek ... Usually to ';The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene'; for a fish shack meal.

we have yet to have a less than spectacular meal anywhere on shems creek. watching the shrimp boats come in and the sunset seems to make the beer colder and the oysters go down easier. sorry i cannot suggest the primo place there, but they are all good, an i haven%26#39;t had one bad meal there. i so wish i was on shems creek now......go enjoy!!!
