Hello All

My Dad was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and given a limited prognosis...with that said he has always wanted to go to Myrtle Beach S.C. We are looking at Thanksgiving Weekend...Anyone have any input for me? I appreciate you suggestions in advance.

Check vrbo.com for rent-by-owner places. The listings show availability calendars, so (in most cases) you will know in advance what is available. Thanksgiving is a popular time fo owners to use their own homes, but I am sure you will find something.

First of all I am sorry to hear about your dad. I don%26#39;t know if you have been to MB or know any area you want to stay but Oceans One looks really good and it is new. We just went a couple of weeks ago and that is not where we stayed but we always look for future stays. They have floor to ceiling glass and great views, he may enjoy that. Sandy Beach also has a new building right next to Oceans One and it looks great as well. Everyone is going to have some good deals this time of year. Also Roxanne Towers is nice. How big is your group? Is he interested in just enjoying the beach %26amp; a view? Or lots of sightseeing?

We rented a great 2-bedroom condo in Surfside Beach through vrbo.com. Immaculately clean %26amp; on the first floor. It has 2 o/f balconies %26amp; is fully equipped for everything.

Most owners will rent for less-than-a-week during the off-season.

Another good value is Dayton House. It%26#39;s in the center of MB %26amp; is a basic, but very well-kept hotel. They have a nice oceanfront lawn with picnic table, umbrellas. Different types of rooms, suites, etc.
