hi there, i am thinking of staying in the area at the end of may but dont reall now where to stay, i would really like to be in the centre of things if poss, i.e. walk to the beach, bars and shops, is this poss...thx
in the centre of things
Most of the shopping is away from the beach as well as most of the bars. Myrtle Beach is really spread out. There is a trolley service that you might could use but I%26#39;m not familiar with it or the hours it operates. You could pick an oceanfront hotel and depending on the location there may or may not be bars withing a reasonable walking distance. You might consider either Oceans One Resort or The Sandy Beach Resort which are two very nice oceanfront properties on S. Ocean Blvd at 3rd Ave S. There is a small beachfront bar adjacent to the Sandy Beach Resort but I can%26#39;t recall the name of it. I%26#39;m sure you will get plenty of suggestions.
in the centre of things
As mentioned above, MB is not the greatest for wasking to things but the two places already mentioned are probably some of the better for walking. I would suggest staying anywhere between those 200 block of S Ocean Blvd up to 2500 N Ocean Blvd if you want to walk. Bayview Resort, Atlantica II or III, Breakers, Camelot, Holiday Inn at the pavillion, Holiday Sands N, anything in that area. Just be sure to check reviews!
